Silence, ahhhhhh

It is quiet in our home at night and one can simply, be still and listen. There is a uniqueness to this silence in our home. It is usually filled with giggles and laughter, childrens voices in word and song, rock music, Jesse and Andy chattering, maybe other voices mixed in the audio chaos. There may be some hammering, balls bouncing, and the consistently heard "Mama."
There is a steady thump of little feet marching and ......toilets flushing.....
(What?)
followed by the dreaded "Uh-OH" and a squeal of delight.
Like all males, ages 0-100, Pookers, is amazed by the magic and mystery of the toilet, except to use it for it's intended purpose. Let's face it, the thing is amazing.
The moment the bathroom door is opened he comes running like a cat to a can-opener, whomever is in there. Heaven forbid the door be locked, ours don't unfortunately.
When he does have a moment of alone time with the toilet, and I literally mean "moment", as in less than 2 seconds, he likes to test the buoyancy of various items. Hot wheels are the item of choice.
I can tell you all about my plumbers family, where his daughter is going to college this fall, his latest grandchild's due date, and what he is buying his wife for their anniversary. We recognize each others voices on the phone. That is just life with little boys and hot wheels.

Yes God does indeed work mysteriously and sometimes I think he just needs a laugh.
